Japanese Destroyer Captain : Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Midway The great Naval battles as seen through Japanese eyes / Tameichi Hara
Known to his countrymen as the "Unsinkable Captain," Japanese Naval Captain Tameichi Hara survived more than 100 sorties against Allied forces during WWII. His memoir was a best-selling paperback in the U.S. and Japan during the 1960s. For this hardcover edition, journalist Saito (Associated Press) spent hundreds of hours interviewing Hara in order to produce a more full and accurate report. U.S. Naval historian Roger Pineau has footnoted the volume with information on the names of U.S. ships and commanders that engaged Hara's forces.
